Welcome to Misty Hills Ranch
We are a family owned and operated 20-acre alpaca breeding facility located just 15 minutes NW of the city of Calgary and 1-1/2 hours East of the world-famous Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The focus of our breeding program is simple - we believe the future of the alpaca industry lies in producing ultra fine fleeces to compete on the world market with such luxury fibers as cashmere. To this end our breeding program has enjoyed considerable success and has produced several quality, award-winning alpacas.
We are dedicated to the future of the alpaca industry and in doing our small part to maintain its history as one of the finest luxury fibers in the world!
In addition to exquisite fiber characteristics, our alpacas are bred for soundness and desirable temperaments. Being a small ranch, we have the opportunity to interact with all of our alpacas on a daily basis. Our alpacas (with the exception of one gelding) are registered with the Canadian (CLRC) and U.S. (ARI) registries. We are also proud members of Alpaca Canada, the Canadian Llama & Alpaca Assocation (CLAA), the Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association (AOBA) and the Canadian Camelid Fibre Cooperative (CCFC). If you are thinking about entering the alpaca industry for the first time, or if you are looking to upgrade or add different genetics to your existing herd, we invite you to look through our website or visit our ranch in person. If you don't see the animals that you are looking for, we would be happy to contact other breeders on your behalf to help you find the qualities, price and/or colour that will suit your needs.
