Misty Hills Ranch started back in 1998, when our son was 9 years old, and we were 15 years younger! We love the alpacas, the industry and the fine people we have met and been associated with throughout this time. Our show experience has been better than we had ever imagined it would be when we started, and throughout the 15 years, our alpacas have achieved44Supreme Champion, Grand Champion, Reserve Champion or Judge's Choice / Best in Show Ribbons or Banners- in both halter and fleece shows! The size of our herd was never larger than 31 animals, so we are extremely proud of what our foundation stock and breeding strategy has produced. Please take a moment and check out ourParade of Championspage for photos & more information.
However, it is now time for us to hang-up our coveralls and call it a day - retirement beckons! As much as we have enjoyed our time with the alpacas, we are anxious to move on to the next phase of our lives, and for this reason we are offering our remaining alpacas at very flexible pricing - no reasonable offer will be refused!
This is particularly a good time for someone looking to get into the alpaca industry for the very first time - should the remaining alpacas all go together to one home, the price will not be beat for this quality of animals. If sold separately, the price will still be outstanding, as we definitely are motivated to sell them.
There are breeding males, young males, foundation females who have produced our champion stock, as well as some pet-quality fiber animals. Don't wait - the selection is good right now!!
Give us a call now to discuss what arrangements can be made to move these beautiful animals to your farm!

Welcome to Misty Hills Ranch
We are a family owned and operated 20-acre alpaca breeding facility located just 15 minutes NW of the city of Calgary and 1-1/2 hours East of the world-famous Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The focus of our breeding program is simple - we believe the future of the alpaca industry lies in producing ultra fine fleeces to compete on the world market with such luxury fibers as cashmere. To this end our breeding program has enjoyed considerable success and has produced several quality, award-winning alpacas.
In addition to exquisite fiber characteristics, our alpacas are bred for soundness and desirable temperaments. Being a small ranch, we have the opportunity to interact with all of our alpacas on a daily basis. Our alpacas (with the exception of one gelding) are registered with the Canadian (CLRC) and U.S. (ARI) registries. We are also proud members of Alpaca Canada, the Canadian Llama & Alpaca Assocation (CLAA), the Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association (AOBA) and the Alpaca Livestock Producers and Cooperators Association (A.L.P.A.C.A.). If you are thinking about entering the alpaca industry for the first time, or if you are looking to upgrade or add different genetics to your existing herd, we invite you to look through our website or visit our ranch in person. We are always happy to talk 'alpaca' and welcome inquiries on the alpacas themselves, their fleece or fleece products.
